RSS ( really simple syndication) has definitely improved the quality of life tht we spend on internet (afterall we spend most of our time on internet) by allowing us keep track of exponententially increasing information on the web.

RSS is a way to subscribe to a source of information, such as a Web site, and get brief updates delivered to you.

And then comes our beautiful browsers which made our lives even more easier by detecting the rss feeds,if any, on the web page opened in that particular browser and display it either in the address bar or on the toolbar(different browsers do it differently) freeing us from groping for the rss feeds in the webpage.

Opera and Firefox display the now-common square orange badge for a Web feed in the browser's address bar when they find RSS feeds on a site. You'll see a similar symbol in Internet Explorer's toolbar. Safari shows a blue rectangle with "RSS" written in white letters.

Now lets check out how different browsers detect and display the rss feeds present in the web page opened .

Here comes elegant SAFARI that shows a blue rectangle with RSS written on it in the address bar as soon as it detects the rss feeds on the web page.

Here is mozilla firefox display the square orange badge for a Web feed in the browser's address bar when it find RSS feeds on a site.

Here is our ubiquitous IE8 (only because of ubiquity of windows) which displays a square badge in its tool bar.This square badge turns orange on detecting rss feeds on the webpage as seen in the image below.It displays "view feeds on this page(alt+j)" on hovering the mouse on it.

The same square badge is grey in color as seen in the image below when there are no rss feeds detected and displays the message "no feeds detected on this page(alt+j)" on hovering the mouse over it .

Last but not the least here comes our opera which displays the orange badge the same way as mozilla firefox does ..

After it's much criticized version "Vista", microsoft has come up with "Windows 7" and believe me it is fast. Speed matters a lot these days. That's why Microsoft focused on fundamentals—especially where speed matters. Windows 7 is ready and responsive. It starts, shuts down, and resumes from standby faster.

Power saving features:

Windows 7 extends battery life for your laptop with power-saving features such as "adaptive display brightness", which automatically dims the display when you haven’t used your computer for a while, much like many cell phones do today.

To adjust the time after which it has to dim the display:

Go to Control panel -> All control panel items -> Power Options
Change plan settings
Select the duration from the drop down button
Click on save changes.

So now you can see the dimming of the screen, if the computer is unused for the specified duration.

Fewer pop ups with Action Center:

In Windows 7, fewer notifications pop up because Action Center consolidates alerts from 10 Windows features, including Security Center and Windows Defender. When Windows 7 needs the user's attention, a icon in the notification area notifies the issue and can find out more by clicking it.Hovering the mouse on the icon shows a messsage like "Solve Pc Issues:1 important message". You can choose to respond to the notification or go to Action Center for more details. If you don’t have time to address the issue immediately, Action Center will keep the information waiting for you to address later.

Action Center is a central place to view alerts and take actions that can help keep Windows running smoothly.Action Center checks several security and maintenance-related items of your computer that help indicate your computer's overall performance. When the status of a monitored item changes (for example, your antivirus software becomes out of date) Action Center notifies you with a message in the notification area on the taskbar, the status of the item in Action Center changes color to reflect the severity of the message, and an action is recommended.

To change which items Action Center checks:

Go to Control panel -> All control panel items -> Action Center
Select a check box to make Action Center check an item for changes or problems,
Clear a check box to stop checking the item.
Click OK.

but i learnt a lot how to make the best use of internet .
i downloaded many themes for my n72 and some books using torrentz. last but not the least started blogging :-)
